With Michelle Cook the Practice Manager having such a big connection with the Mullaloo Surf Life Saving Club, we decided to give the IRB (Inflatable Rescue Boat) team a little care package to give them a helping hand coping with the strains and stresses of competing at such a demanding event.
The IRB team recently took top spot at the WA State IRB racing titles at Scarborough Beach, and went over to Thirroul, NSW, to compete against Australia’s best in some very big conditions.
Because the team didn’t have direct access to a Physio we wanted to help keep them in the best condition. One way to make sure that happened was by rolling before and after training and competing, so we donated 6 rollers and 3 trigger point massage balls. They definitely got a lot of use out of them, and many of the team gained a new respect for the humble roller and massage ball.
It was a great weekend with the Masters getting through to many semi-finals, the State Team placing 4th overall, and Mullaloo placing 8th overall out of the 46 Australian Surf Clubs competing in the competition!
